Story

Byron Bay has held a special place in my heart since my first visit over 30 years ago. To own a piece of land one day, in this magical place, was a dream. Year after year we travelled here, my husband and children, each time to a different village to explore.

We enjoyed the beaches of Belongil and Wategos, the little town of Suffolk Park and up through to the picturesque villages of Possum Creek and Newrybar. We knew we would find our unique place in the Byron Bay Hinterland. With the perfect mix of country and coastal, this area captured our hearts.

It was heading down a country road west of Newrybar village we fell in love. The property located in the hamlet of Brooklet ticked all the boxes, a long meandering driveway, a farmhouse, a fig tree (or two) rolling hills and endless sunsets. It was there and then we purchased a macadamia and stone fruit farm, with a vision to regenerate the land and fulfil our dream.

Many years ago, in the heart of the Tuscan hills near Siena, we visited an exquisite property overlooking the landscape, a place reminiscent of the hinterland. Its boutique, luxury accommodation and location created a sense of calm and relaxation. We spent days marvelling at beautifully designed villas, walking the gardens, and enjoying the Italian way of life… wine, cheese, and cooking. We were inspired to create our own boutique brand in the Byron Bay Hinterland.

Our plan was to build the perfect blend of country indulgence and coastal life, with luxurious spaces in an environment surrounded by beauty. The Brooklet is now a welcoming place where luxury and nature meet. A ‘home away from home’.
